The substrates / eight foundations

Build the
way there.

The story needs a machine underneath it. The machine needs people, paying demand, credible evidence, and the ability to change its mind.

01
Physical production

Useful capacity

Qualified people, functioning supply chains, and permission to deliver. Energy, housing, learning, health, and food require more than a ledger.

02
Economic demand

A reason to pay

A named beneficiary and payer, a real contract, measured value, funded operations, and a reserve for losses. Token demand is not a substitute.

03
Identity & agency

Accountable participation

Plural onboarding routes, minimal disclosure, passkeys, assisted access, and recoverable accounts. No single identity vendor controls who can earn.

04
Proof & review

A standard before a story

Versioned definitions, baseline measurements, private evidence, independent review, random audits, and appeals people can afford.

05
Settlement & ownership

Clear rights, real payments

Reconciled conventional payouts first. Any later escrow, currency, or ownership claim gets an explicit necessity test and appropriate review.

06
Governance & exit

Power people can contest

Published authority, conflict rules, bounded contribution-based influence, privacy-respecting exports, and a continuity plan beyond the founder.

07
Intelligence & judgment

AI assistance under human goals

Evidence organization, uncertainty estimates, review routing, and recorded rule versions. Accountable people approve consequential decisions.

08
Culture & belonging

A future people choose

Music, taste, story, local conveners, weekly rituals, and visible outcomes. Human resonance creates participation; proof earns its continuation.

The minimum useful stack

Start with a service.
Earn the protocol.

A mobile web app. A funded contract. A review queue. A reconciled payment. A receipt.

Use a relational database and append-only event log, encrypted evidence storage, accessible identity and recovery, and conventional payment rails. Add public attestations and more complex infrastructure when the operating evidence calls for them.

Interactive walkthrough · fictional claim

A household uses less energy.

Define & fundA payer commits a budget. Before work starts, the contract sets the baseline, evidence standard, consent, measurement period, and payment rule.

A walkthrough of a proposed workflow. No real claim is submitted or settled.

Open foundations / research before reinvention

Stand on good shoulders.

These projects offer useful components and hard-earned lessons. They are candidates for a future implementation; this site does not integrate them.

FoundationWhat to reuse or learnWhat still needs solving
EAS ↗Attestation schemasAn attestation is a signed claim, not proof of truth.
Open Source Observer ↗Impact data pipelinesAdapt open-data patterns; physical outcomes need domain measurement.
cadCAD ↗Economic simulationStress-test subsidy loss, collusion, and pool depletion.
Colony ↗Domain reputationDecay and local competence are useful; influence can still be captured.
Safe ↗Treasury controlsChoose reviewed release tags; use only if on-chain custody is justified.
Human Passport ↗Identity signalsCombine routes and behavioral review; credentials can be rented.
C2PA ↗Media provenanceProvenance does not establish that an outcome is true or valuable.

Review exact licenses, maintenance, release tags, audits, and compatibility before adoption. The website itself uses an original static implementation; no protocol code has been copied into it.

Sequence matters

Build only what the next proof needs.

A / PUBLISH

Make it legible.

This blueprint, the economic argument, and a culture people can recognize.

B / PILOT

Make it useful.

Real delivery, conventional payments, independent measurement.

C / REPEAT

Make it durable.

Customer renewal, positive economics, exportable standards and histories.

D / FEDERATE

Make it shared.

Interoperable communities. A currency only if it solves a demonstrated need.
